Exciting Sixth Form Trip to Capital One's TechCon Event

Our Year 12 and 13 IT and Business pupils, led by Mr. Hussain and Mr. Danby, embarked on an enriching journey at Capital One's TechCon event, delving into the heart of the tech industry

We are thrilled to share with you some exciting highlights from a recent school trip that took our Year 12 and 13 IT and Business pupils to the heart of the tech industry at Capital One's TechCon event. Organised by our dedicated team and led by Mr. Hussain and Mr. Danby, the trip proved to be an enriching and memorable experience for our students.

Throughout the event, our students displayed exemplary behaviour, representing our school community with pride and professionalism. Their positive attitude and enthusiasm were evident as they immersed themselves in the various activities offered by Capital One.

The day began with an insightful tour of Capital One's offices, providing our students with a firsthand look at the inner workings of a leading tech company. From innovative workspaces to cutting-edge technology, the tour offered valuable insights into the dynamic world of tech.

Following the tour, our students had the opportunity to engage in a tech Q&A session, where they showcased their curiosity and intellect by posing thought-provoking questions to industry professionals. Hearing from individuals on the graduate program provided invaluable insights into potential career paths and opportunities within the tech sector.

One of the highlights of the trip was the visit to Capital One's games room, where our students had the chance to unwind and bond over friendly games of arcade machines, pool, and foosball. Additionally, they explored the prayer facilities, gym amenities, and even indulged in a visit to the massage and fitness room provided for staff, giving them a glimpse into the supportive and inclusive culture at Capital One.

Captured in the attached photos are moments of joy and camaraderie shared by our students during the trip. Their excitement and enthusiasm were palpable as they explored new environments and learned from industry professionals.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Capital One for their warm hospitality and for providing our students with such a valuable learning experience. Special thanks go to Leonie for her meticulous organisation and dedication in ensuring the success of this event.

As a school community, we are committed to providing our students with enriching opportunities that broaden their horizons and prepare them for future success. The TechCon event at Capital One exemplifies our ongoing efforts to expose our students to real-world experiences and industry insights.

We look forward to sharing more exciting opportunities with our students in the future and thank you for your continued support in fostering their growth and development.

Best regards,
