Although we have tried to make this year's Options process as simple as possible for students and parents, we understand you may have certain questions.

Please see below, some of the most common questions with answers which may help you throughout the process.

When does this need to be completed by?

Ideally this should be completed as soon as possible. We cannot guarantee everyone will get their first preference in each option block. We have put in place a deadline for Friday 24^th April. After this date, we will chase up any missing selection the following week with the hope of completing by Friday 1^st.

What happens if I change my mind?

We would encourage you to think carefully about the options that you want to select before submitting electronically. However, if you do need to make a change simply fill out the electronic copy again but this time when it asks for student name add Version 2 or V2 to the end of your name. I will then be able to delete for first selection and use Version 2.

Is there a Pathway A and B this year?

No this year there isn't a pathway A or B, you can have a completely free choice...

Will I study Triple Science?

Yes, ALL students will be studying Triple Science next year in Year 9.

Can I have two 1st preferences in an Option Block?

No, you can only have one 1st preference, one 2nd preference and one 3rd preference in EACH Option Block.

What are the chances of me getting my 1st preferences in all Option Blocks?

We cannot guarantee everyone will get their first preference in each option block, however we strive to ensure students get their first preference where possible.

What are the Core Subjects?

The subject that you must take are called core subjects. They are English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, Science and Core PE.

I want to find out more information about a course before I pick it. Where can I find this?

All of the course information can be found in the Brochure. Additional information can be found in the Assemblies on the right hand side of this page.

Do I need to be signed in to my School Email Account before I can submit the Form in Step 5?

Yes, you won't be able to submit the form unless you sign into Outlook.com with your school email and password.

I've forgotten how to login. How can I reset my password?

No worries. Simply visit the Year 8 'Forgotten Password' page, fill in a few details and we will be in touch to give you a new password.

What does an example completed form look like?

For each option block you need to choose a 1^st,2^nd and 3^rd preference. The first preference is the subject that you would most like to do in that option block. For example:
