Key Stage 4 Geography
The Geography department offer two courses at Key Stage 4: GCSE Geography and BTEC Travel and Tourism.
GCSE Geography
We follow the WJEC GCSE specification B syllabus. This is divided into three themes:
Theme 1: Challenges of Living in a Built Environment
Theme 2: Physical Processes & Relationships between People and Environments
Theme 3: Uneven Development and Sustainable Environments
The course is broken down into individual key questions and taught as small topics to keep pupils engaged and to ensure content is current.
The course is assessed through two external examinations at the end of the final year and one piece of controlled assessment worth 25% assessed internally.
BTEC Travel and Tourism, Level 2 Certificate
Over the two years of studying this course, pupils complete eight units, two of which are assessed by external examination and the rest by means of a portfolio of work.
