Year 9 Bubble Closure

It is with regret that we wish to inform the Academy community that we have learned of two positive tests in our Year 9 bubble. This year group is now closed to students and they should return on 12th October.

We would like to inform the Academy community that we have learnt of two positive tests in our Year 9 bubble, which we were made aware of this morning.

We have followed guidance from Public Health England, and in order to minimise future risk of transmission, we have taken the decision to close the bubble to our Year, 9 students, for a duration of 14 days. Year 9 students will return on Monday 12th October if they are not presenting any COVID-19 symptoms.

The school has been closely following a clear set of operating procedures and risk assessments to minimise the risk to other students and staff; in particular, maintaining students in their respective bubbles. For this reason, the rest of the school will remain open and are expected to come to school tomorrow. If students have siblings in Year 9 they should still come to school unless they begin to present COVID-19 symptoms.

After authorisation from parents, Year 9 students have been sent home, printed work was made available for them to take with them and the Academy Home Learning page will be active throughout this period.

As throughout this period we advise the Academy community to follow government guidance if anyone in the household presents any Covid symptoms to contact 119 and seek a test.
