Nottingham Academy

Key Worker Provision

Dear parent/carer,

RE: Greenwood Academies Trust provision for the children of critical workers and vulnerable children.

This information is only for parents/carers who have identified themselves as key workers to Nottingham Academy.

Thank you for completing the online form to request provision for your child due to your requirement to be at work as a critical worker and/or your child having a specific vulnerability

We are delighted to be able to play our small part in making sure you can work, and they remain safe.

As you will be aware, everyone in the country has been asked to practice social distancing where possible. It is therefore important that your child only attends this provision if absolutely necessary. If they can be at home by themselves or looked after by another adult (although not an elderly person) they should be doing that rather than attending this provision. If you decide that they do not need to attend the provision, please let me know by email to adming@nottinghamacademy.org.

Also, in order to support our staff in following social distancing measures we are consolidating the provision for pupils across all of the different Greenwood Academies Trust schools in Nottingham. Our provision will, therefore, run at the Nottingham Academy, Greenwood Campus. The address is Nottingham Academy, Greenwood Campus, Nottingham, NG3 7EB, 0115 7483380.

The day will start at 8:30 am and finish at 3 pm. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Students do not need to wear uniform but should bring a PE kit for physical activities.

All children will receive a free cold school lunch, at 12 noon each day, but you should feel free to send them with a packed lunch if you would prefer. We would also ask that you provide a drink (a refillable water bottle would be best) and snacks if you wish. If they have any food allergies please respond to this email with those details.

During the day your child will be able to use the Academy computer facilities to access and work on, the distance learning materials we have sent out to all pupils. There will also be some activities during the day to break things up a little. These will be things such as basketball, cricket, dance, and music.

We will register your child each day and, in the unlikely event they are absent, we will contact you.

We understand you may not require this provision every day so it would be useful if you could respond to this letter to let us know whether there are any days, mornings or afternoons that you will not require your daughter to attend the provision.

As you will appreciate, we have had very little time to put this provision together. We are therefore currently working on a plan for what will happen during the Easter holiday and beyond. It is possible that we will be able to host a provision at the Academy site in the future and we will keep you updated as soon as our plans are developed.

If you wish to contact me regarding any aspect of this, please do not hesitate to respond to this email. If I don’t hear from you, I will assume your child will be attending, full-time from Monday, does not have any food allergies and that you have no further queries.
