Year 9 Vaccination Information
Nottingham Academy will be working with the vaccination service to offer vaccinations in school to our Year 9 Cohort on 8th July.
This vaccine is part of the Childhood Immunisation Programme and consists of 2 doses given in school between 6 and 24 months apart.
Having the HPV vaccine helps protect both boys and girls from Human Papillomavirus related cancers.
The UK programme has already contributed to preventing future deaths from cancer. We expect it to eventually prevent hundreds of cancer deaths every year. Further information can be found in the attached leaflet.

Meningococcal ACWY vaccination and, Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Polio (Teenage 3 in 1 Booster) vaccination.
These vaccines are offered to all students in Year 9 and will be given in school.
Why get your child vaccinated? Meningococcal ACWY – protects your son/daughter against four types of meningococcal bacteria (Types A, C, W, and Y) that cause meningitis (inflammation of the brain lining) and septicaemia (blood poisoning). We strongly urge you to take this opportunity to protect your son/daughter against these four infections which, as you will be aware, can kill or have serious life-long consequences.
The 3 in 1 booster – protects your son/daughter against Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Polio, all of which can be very serious diseases. This is a booster for the vaccinations your son/daughter received as a baby, and then again at approximately 3-4 years (the preschool booster).
