Ofsted
Nottingham Academy has once again been recognised by Ofsted for its welcoming community spirit which is rich, diverse and vibrant.
Inspectors who visited the Academy commented on our strong provision for Personal Development which was graded as ‘Good.’ Moreover, a key strength of our inspection was the mutual and trusting relationships our staff have with students across our school.
We are proud of our Sixth Form and this Post 16 provision continues to be a strength of the school. Students learn important life skills that prepare them for adulthood and they take on leadership roles mentoring younger pupils, raising funds for charity and being part of the National Citizen Service.
The Lead Inspector recognised the journey our school has been on; however, the report rightly points out that certain improvements require more time to fully embed before their impact is realised for all students.
It is important for parents and carers to note how the school’s leadership team has been strengthened since the previous inspection. As such, school leaders will continue to work closely with the collective staff body, as well as with members of the Greenwood Academies Trust who sponsor Nottingham Academy, to continue improving the quality of education for the young people we serve.
