Admissions to the Nottingham Academy
Pupils are admitted at the start of, and during, our three main stages:
- primary reception (age 5)
- secondary year 7 (age 11)
- secondary post-16 (age 16)
Pupils on roll in the primary part of the Academy have an automatic place in the secondary phase of the Academy.
- 150 full time places - reception
- 300 full time places - year 7 (including 90 pupils automatically transferring from the Academy's primary provision)
- 300 full time places - post 16 (including all year 11 pupils at the Academy who choose to stay on for their post-16 education)
To apply for a place at the Nottingham Academy
For admission to our nursery provision, parents should contact the Primary Reception on our Greenwood Road site on 0115 748 3385 to apply for a place.
For admission to primary reception and to secondary year 7, in the year preceding admission, parents should apply using Nottingham City Council's Co-ordinated Admissions Scheme.
For admission in September 2022, these forms should be returned by 15 January 2022 for primary reception and by midday on 31 October 2021 for secondary Year 7.

For all Post-16 admissions, please contact the Sixth Form at the Nottingham Academy on 0115 748 3400 or complete the Post-16 application form on our main Sixth Form page.
There will be a right of appeal to an Independent Appeals Panel for unsuccessful applicants relating to admissions at age 5 (statutory school age) or above. Appeals should be made within twenty (20) school days of the date of refusal.
