Young Enterprise Winners
'Ace' Young Enterprise Team win regional award
Young Enterprise has been very popular in Sixth Form and this year students invited staff and fellow students to invest in their Young Enterprise venture. Young Enterprise is the UK’s leading enterprise and financial education charity reaching over 250,000 young people every year, it provides a unique opportunity for students to experience how a business is structured, operates and runs. This year’s group have created ‘Ace’ a hoodie and T shirt retail company.
“We decided as a group to design hoodies with a printed logo, we chose this as we felt it was a product that could generate the most profit, the cost for the hoodie will roughly cost £15, we had several designs and narrowed this down to one final design, this design was based on the ace of spades as this is the name of our company.”
The Ace team sold their products at enterprise events and during the Academy day.
Each year Young Enterprise holds an awards ceremony at Nottingham Trent University to celebrate students that have taken part. This year Nottingham Academy won the Best Company – Teamwork Award for the Nottinghamshire region! Young Enterprise organisers praised the team’s attitude. Mersad, Qasim, Arslaan and Jack have demonstrated fantastic team work, communication and marketing skills in bringing their product to fruition. Mr Hussain and Mrs Davies are very proud of the boys and they should be very proud of themselves too.
