Welcoming the Holy Month of Ramadhan

A Month of Reflection, Community, and Spiritual Growth
As we approach the holy month of Ramadhan, Nottingham Academy extends its warmest greetings to all our Muslim families. This sacred month holds great significance in the Islamic calendar, serving as a time of reflection, devotion, and community spirit.
Ramadhan is a cherished period marked by fasting from dawn until sunset, a spiritual practice that fosters self-discipline and cultivates empathy for those less fortunate. It is a time for Muslims around the world to strengthen their faith and deepen their connections with their communities.
At Nottingham Academy, we recognise the importance of this month for our Muslim students and staff and are committed to supporting them throughout this spiritually enriching time. We deeply respect the dedication and discipline involved in fasting and observing the special prayers during Ramadhan.
To support our students and staff who are observing the fast, we continue to provide designated prayer rooms at both school sites, ensuring a private and peaceful space for prayer and reflection during lunchtimes. Additionally, we are pleased to announce that, in anticipation of a large turnout, the Sports Hall at the Greenwood Road site will be available for Friday congregational prayers this year.
As Ramadhan draws to a close, we look forward to celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr with our students. To mark this joyous occasion, we invite all students to wear their Eid clothes to school on the first school day following Eid. This will be a wonderful opportunity to showcase the vibrant and diverse cultural heritage within our school community, fostering a sense of unity and celebration
We wish all our Muslim families a blessed and peaceful month of Ramadhan. May this time bring you joy, health, and prosperity. We look forward to sharing in the spirit of Ramadhan and learning more from each other about this special occasion.
